Getting into OSINT

Resources for those looking to get into OSINT or advance their existing OSINT knowledge

I’ve been asked by a few people how to get into OSINT recently, so thought I’d put together a brief guide to resources, voices, and courses that will help you if you want to pursue a career in OSINT or just learn OSINT techniques to bolster your skillset.

Buy OSINT Techniques by Michael Bazzell

Pretty much the bible of OSINT, this book contains easy-to-follow, step-by-step guides on how to collect information from a comprehensive selection of open-sources, including social media, websites, phone numbers, emails, and much more. I can’t recommend this book highly enough as a starting point.

You can buy it from Amazon by clicking here.

Check out the Bellingcat website

Bellincat.com is absolutely packed full of real-life case studies, guides to conducting OSINT investigations, and articles based on OSINT produced by the agency.

Follow OSINT voices on LinkedIn

As well as posting useful OSINT tips and resources, some of them also provide courses. Voices I would recommend to start with are:
